The website for the American Heart Association, providing a variety of information related to heart disease for patients, professionals and the general public.

Angus Council
The website for Angus Council provides details of the comprehensive range of services for all ages of people across Angus.

Aphasia Now
Website created by people who live with aphasia, to provide information for others affected by aphasia.

Assist UK
Assist UK leads a UK wide network of locally-situated Disabled Living Centres. Each centre includes a permanent exhibition of products and equipment that provide people with opportunities to see and try products and equipment and get information and advice from professional staff about what might suit them best.

Best Treatments
The BMJ BestTreatments website provides guidance, based on research evidence, about the treatments for many medical conditions.

Big Lottery Fund
Big Lottery Fund is a new organisation that will hand out half the money for good causes from the National Lottery. Big Lottery Fund was created by merging the New Opportunities Fund and the Community Fund.

Blood Pressure Association
The Blood Pressure Assiciation is for members of the public who have or are interested in high blood pressure. It is associated with the British Hypertension Society. Free membership provides access to information, discount on products and involvement in shaping services. Subscribe to quarterly magazine Positive Pressure.

Body Talk Online
Bodytalk-Online is a healthcare advice website, the online version of the popular range of BodyTalk 'Healthcare Advice' audio tapes where Doctor Hilary Jones explains a wide range of medical conditions in easy to understand terms.

Brain & Spine Foundation
Provides information for people affected by disorders of the brian and spine.

British Cardiac Society
The website for British Cardiovascular Society provides information on professional education, clinical standard setting and research into heart and circulatory diseases. This website is aimed at cardiology professionals.

British Heart Foundation
British Heart Foundation aims to play a leading role in the fight against disease of the heart and circulation so that it is no longer a major cause of disability and premature death.

British Medical Journal - BMJ
The website for BMJ leads on the debate on health, and to engage, inform, and stimulate doctors, researchers and other health professionals in ways that will improve outcomes for patients.

British Red Cross (Scotland)
Have local branches which can lend or hire equipment for people with disabilities. They also can help with transport and first aid training.

BUPA (British United Provident Association)
The BUPA website provides information factsheets on a variety of topics including diet and nutrition, physical activity and stopping smoking.

Carers National Association (Scotland)
Provides advice and encouragement for carers and provides training for health professionals and carers as well as campaigning for awareness.

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland
Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland aims to improve the quality of life for people in Scotland affected by chest, heart and stroke illness through medical research, advice and information, and support in the community.

Connect
Connect is a national charity which promotes effective services, new opportunities and a better quality of life for people living with aphasia (communication disability).

Continence Foundation
National organisation which provides personal and confidential advice from specialist nurses for people with bladder and bowel problems. They can also put you in touch with your local continence advisor.

Couple Counselling Scotland
Provides information about confidential couple counselling in Scotland.

Crossroad (Scotland) Caring for Carers
Provides information to support carers in Scotland.

Cruse Bereavement
The website for Cruse Bereavement Care exists to promote the well-being of bereaved people and to enable anyone bereaved by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss. The organisation provides counselling and support and offers information, advice, education and training services.

Depression Alliance (Scotland)
Provides information, support and understanding to those affected by depression. Campaigns to raise awareness amongst the general public about the realities of the condition.

Diabetes Information +
Information + is an NHS Scotland website which offers a one-stop-shop for quality assured information for people with diabetes, their families and carers, and interested members of the public

Diabetes UK (Formerly the British Diabetic Association)
Provides support and information for diabetics and their families and supports diabetic research.

Different Strokes
Different Strokes is a national charity set up by young stroke survivors for young stroke survivors. It provides information, support and exercise opportunities, a telephone service and counselling.

DIPEx.org
DIPEx shows you a wide variety of personal experiences of health and illness. You can watch, listen to or read their interviews, find reliable information on treatment choices and where to find support.

Disability, Pregnancy & Parenthood International (DPPi)
Disability, Pregnancy & Parenthood international (DPPi) is a small UK based registered charity which promotes better awareness and support for disabled people considering, during and after pregnancy and as parents.

Disabled Income Group (DIG)
Provides a free Welfare Benefits Information and Advice Service to disabled people and carers in Scotland.

Disabled Living Foundation
Disabled Living Foundation is a source of information and advice on products, equipment and technology for people with disabilities. Specialist training and comprehensive databases provide solutions to problems that limit an individual's independence.

Disabled Parents Network
Disabled Parents Network (DPN) is a national organisation of and for disabled people who are parents or who hope to become parents, and their families, friends and supporters.

Door to Door
This website provides information and advice for disabled people about travelling on all forms of transport.

Dr Foster
Provides information on a range of health services in different areas, including details about waiting lists and the doctors that might be treating you.

Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA)
Provides information on driving following ilnness, including heart conditions and stroke conditions.

Dundee City Council
The website for Dundee City Council provides details of the comprehensive range of services for all ages of people across the city.

Dundee Healthy Living Initiative
Provides information on the work of the Dundee Healthy Living Initiative, including local activities to improve health and providing local health advice and information.

Epilepsy Action

Good Access Guide

Health Scotland (formerly Health Education Board for Scotland (HEBS))
Provides information on the work being carried out by Health Scotland, the national agency for improving the health of the Scottish nation.

Healthy Living
Provides resources, advice and support on healthy eating and physical activity. Developed by the Scottish Executive and NHS Health Scotland.

Heart Failure Matters
Practice heart failure information for patients, families and caregivers

This is a charity which specialises in high cholesterol problems that run in families.

Help the Aged
Provides support for older people including advice, information, grants and advocacy.

Male Health
Provides information about the key health problems that can affect men, including coronary heart disease.

Mayo Clinic
Provides information on a variety of medical conditions.

Medline Plus
Provides information about various medical conditions, drug treatments and interactive patient tutorials. Linked to the US National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health.

NHS Tayside provides primary care and secondary care services across Tayside with full supporting services to a population of approximately 400,000.

NHS Tayside Public Health Library
Provides information on the library service provided by NHS Tayside Public Health Department.

Patient UK
Provides extensive information resources about a variety of health topics.

Patient Voices
Provices personal experiences of people who have used health services in their area.

Perth & Kinross Association of Voluntary Service
Perth & Kinross Association of Voluntary Service offers support, information and advice to voluntary organisations. We distribute grants, and develop projects in the field of care in the community in the Perth and Kinross area.

Perth & Kinross Council
The website for Perth & Kinross Council provides details of the comprehensive range of services for all ages of people across Perth & Kinross.

PINNT (Patients on intravenous and naso-gastric nutrition therapy)
This is a charity that offers support for people receiving parenteral or enteral nutrition therapy. It also aims to promote awareness and understanding and works in conjunction with health professionals to improve life at home. They offer written advice and information about many aspects of life with nutritional therapy, a newsletter and local support groups.

Primary Care Cardiovascular Society (PCCS)
A resource for professionals to promote high quality cardiovascular care in the primary care setting.

Princess Royal Trust Carers Centre (Dundee)
This group aims to provide better information and support for carers so that they are more able to carry out their caring role and ensure that carers are included in the planning and delivery of services.

Princess Royal Trust Carers Centre (Perth)
Provides a range of services to meet the needs of carers within the community of Perth & Kinross.

Princess Royal Trust for Carers (Scotland)
Provide advice and support to carers on all topics and providing information about what services are available locally. There are Centres all over Scotland but they will also put you in touch with another carer organisation if necessary.

Relationship Couple Counselling (Scotland)
This is the umbrella organisation that covers the whole of Scotland and will provide information about couple counselling in your area. They can also find more specialized services such as psychosexual counselling.

Royal National Institute for the Blind (Scotland) (RNIB)
Provides a wide range of specialized information and services for partially sighted and blind people.

Scottish Consumer Council
Provides information about the work of The Scottish Consumer Council, an independent policy organisation working to help consumers in Scotland.

Scottish Disability Sport
Provides information about sport and physical recreation for disabled people.

Scottish e-library
Provides access to specialist information resources, including evidence based reviews, clinical guidelines and bibliographic databases.

Scottish Health Council
Provides information on how the views of patients and the public are taken into account by Health Boards across Scotland.

Sexual Dysfunction Association
Provides advice on overcoming sexual difficulties.

SIGN - Scottish Intercollegiate Network
The website for SIGN provides a comprehensive website which details the work carried out by SIGN i.e. developing evidence based national guidelines for NHS Scotland.

Speakability
Speakability is a national charity that supports people living with aphasia and their carers through its information service, network of groups, activities programme and range of booklets. StressWatch Scotland
Practical help and advice on dealing with stress related problems such as anxiety and panic attacks.

Stroke Association
The Stroke Association is a national charity that funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, and helps stroke patients and their families directly through its Rehabilitation and Support Services.

Stroke Information +
Stroke Information+ is an NHS Scotland website for stroke survivors, their carers and families, and interested members of the public. Resources include evaluated stroke patient leaflets, information about medicines, stroke support groups and other relevant information.

Stroke Training and Awareness Resources (STARs)
This website provides a multidisciplinary resource which focuses on a wide range of core knowledge and skills required by all staff when delivering stroke care. The resource is based on the Stroke Core Competencies which were published by NHS Education for Scotland (NES) in 2005.

The Tayside Diabetes Network
